Our Mission
Youth from both poor and affluent backgrounds, inclusive of those that have been marginalized and considered at-risk, are most in need of a safe place where they can pause to find peace.
Dreamspace was created to fill a need for access to a safe space to create. By design, Dreamspace workshops provide encouragement for children and adults on how to pause and find peace. Dreamspace offers pathways through a series of art workshops allowing peace and reflection with creative self-expression. These pathways have been designed to unlock the inner child of both children and adults using art experiences. Mental health experts tell us high-risk children are vulnerable to mental health challenges.
Dreamspace, created by founder, artist, author, and educator Renee Brown is a wonderland of joy for children and adults seeking a safe place to let their minds soar and release what is inside. Renee Brown has published on the value of using a strong foundation of basic art skills found throughout the lessons in her book Lines and circles.
These lessons inspire inner release and discovery, and a respect for fundamental art foundations. Participants are encouraged to explore hidden mysteries within their artistic expressions. Renee Brown’s approach has proven to be life-giving. During these art exercises, participants are encouraged to reflect on what they see, lifting a heightened sensitivity, awareness, and personal value of their inner being. Researchers have shown that an engaged and mindful state of mind promotes positive self-esteem and positive prosocial behavior.

After the tragic shooting at Tops supermarket in our city of Buffalo NY.
Dream space center shifted the structure of its programming and reached out to the community
of Buffalo in the form of a series of summer healing art workshops.
Buffalo States Anne Frank program and Photography department are partnering with
Dream space center. They have Implemented their expertise in a series of Inner healing workshops this summer that will continue into the fall 2022.

Lines and circles art lessons were developed to sensitize, and
connect young artist to what is happening inwardly.
Six step by step process driven art lessons release the young artist into pathways of discovery and exploration.
Elementary lines and circle are used as a point of departure
as the artists tap into and release their inner spirit and emotion through creative abstract expressions.
